REMINDER:  Dues for 2013-2014 are $25 payable by Nov 16th.  Dues and our fundraiser- Entertainment Books support our basic running costs and our scholarship award.  We will have some extraordinary expenses this year as hosts of the CAPA 100 anniversary luncheon.  Send payment to Sandi Russ.  See membership form in JOIN US  container.    Let Pam Wurster know you want an Entertainment Book.  They are only $25 this year!

Pam, Carol, Lorry, and Marilyn participated in the workshop on Oct 17th along with 15 other panhel ladies.  Linda Meixner and Alison Borodkin were a big help in the early class session.  Thanks ladies!

Sincere sympathy is extended to Diane Euchenhofer Rossa on the loss of her mother, Arline M. Euchenhofer on May 24th.  Arline was a graduate of Cleveland Hts High, CWRU, a teacher, wife (of the late Harold,) and mother( of Diane and Doug).

Here is the information about Linda Parker's memorial service. Linda was initiated at Ohio University Tau Alpha Chapter of Chi Omega in 1957.   After a valiant fight against cancer, she is in now in the Omega Chapter.  She was a wonderful example of our ideals:  "...character before appearances;...to work earnestly, to speak kindly, to act sincerely,...to be womanly always; to be discouraged never.." Linda will be missed.

LINDAMAE PARKER (nee Conner) died Apr. 24, 2013. She was the wife of the late Richard A. Parker. She was the mother of Barton (Cynthia), Andrew (Gracelyn), and Carter (Suzanne). She was the sister of Georgia Nelson, and grandmother of eight. A Memorial Service will be held in the Lyons Chapel at Breckenridge Village, 36855 Ridge Rd., Willoughby on Saturday May 18 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to Breckenridge Life Care, 36855 Ridge Rd., Willoughby; The Gathering Place, 23300 Commerce Park, Beachwood, Ohio 44122; or the City Mission, 5310 Carnegie Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44103. The family will receive guests one hour before and after the service.

Great meeting at Sur La Table. Everyone helped cook and we all enjoyed eating: minted pea & leek soup, Caesar salad, and chocolate lava cake.   See photos in Meetings 2013-13 album.

Nancy T and Lorry returned from Chi-O-Hio in Cincinnati on Saturday 4/13 feeling that their ChiO cups were full of sisterhood.  (Sadly, Sandi was ill and could not make the trip.) What a lovely affair. Beautiful old building (The Cincinnati Club).  100's of lovely Chi Omegas.  Many deserving scholarship winners, honored advisors and alumnae.  Linda McGinty was awarded Outstanding Ohio Alumna. Nancy Kermode was our nominee. See photos. Next time it's in Columbus.  Do try to come. You'll be glad you did.

On Good Friday the Chagrin Valley Council of Churches presented an outdoor Stations of the Cross.   Chi O past president, Claudia Lanzendorfer, was part of the bell choir from Holy Angels Church. (see her photo in the CVT4/4)  She & Lon still live in Hudson and  work together in their business, their daughter was recently married. She says she hopes get back with us.

Jane Kirchner is now home from Menorah Park.  Her health is improved.  She was touched to receive 5 white carnations from us in memory of her husband, Jim.

On Friday 3/8 Holly Capron stopped in to visit with Nancy.  She is doing well, continues to work for Kohl's, has a new puppy, and sends her best to all.  Later that day Nancy enjoyed some girl time with Jodi McCueKyle Bizjak, and Sandi Russ at our Happy Hour at Panini's in Willoughby.

Happy Valentine's Day, sisters!    We remembered you as we made cards for the service men and women at our executive board meeting on 2/12.  Cindy Schinagle packed them in care packages the next day when she volunteered at the USO.  Jean, Joy, Cindy, Carol and Nancy enjoyed aandmother of eight. A Memorial Service will be held in the Lyons Chapel at Breckenridge Village, 36855 Ridge Rd., Willoughby on Saturday May 18 at 2 pm. Pam and Nancy visited with Jane Kirchner on Monday at Johnson-Romito at the visiting hours for her deceased husband, Jim Kirchner.  Jane has been ill for several months. She is now staying at Menorah Park, where she is receiving physical and occupational therapy.   In spite of all that's she's going thru right now, she looked beautiful and appeared to be dealing well with her loss.

Today's Plain Dealer listed a Chi O and a Chi O spouse in the obits.  Marjorie Huff Ettinger, Lambda Delta'47, passed awawy on 1/15/2013.  She retired from teaching and living in Chesterland, moved to VA and FL. Her family is holding a memorial service on Saturday 2/9 at Highland Sixth Presbyterian Church on Wilson Mills Rd.at 1 pm. 

Jane Freebairn Kirchner's (Nu Gamma) husband, James died on 2/1/2013.  Visiting hours are tomorrow, Monday 2/4 at Johnson-Romito Funeral home on Darrow Rd, Twinsburg from 5-7 pm.  Services will be onTuesday 2/5 at 10 am at the funeral home.

CAPA's fund raiser, a dine out, will be held next weekend.  On Nov 22,23,24 Ruby Tuesdays in Beachwood, Seven Hills, and North Olmsted.  Ruby Tuesday  will donate 20% to CAPA's scholarship fund for those patrons who present the voucher.  Offer good on carry out too.  No additional coupons may be used with vouchers.
